Photography as An Art

When I was a child used to think Why do people look in the paintings or listen to those boring sitar or watch kathak, How boring I used to feel. But now the perspective has totally changed. Our lives has become so much mechanized that we barely see the sky full of star..let me ask a you when was the last time did you see the sky full of stars lying on your back and just enjoying their twinkling …..Ok come back don’t put to much pressure…this is the story with everyone big or small .. CEO or Receptionist. So why don’t you do something which you can really cherish, enjoy, ready to do anytime anywhere, no ifs & buts roadblock etc...

Last year I bought a DSLR (IMPULSE BUYING) I didn’t know anything about camera & Photography but I love photography and wanted to buy a good camera. Then I started exploring it. I subscribed to photography magazine, bought books, surf the net, downloaded ebooks, online videos, visited photo fair at Pragati Maidan, joined online photography club & attended their meetings. Now I came to know that this field of ART is not that easy you take out your Nokia N91 and say WOW what a good shot. I went to lot of places with my DSLR and I was very happy that I am also a good photographer because I am carrying a D40. I shot lot of photographs according to me they were wonderful (Pic Above) but when I posted them or showed them for review I was told this

“I would like to share an advise with you which I got from a friend when I was beginning in photography. That before clicking a shot move around and try different angles and compositions before clicking it. Does takes a little time but the satisfaction in return is worth it”
All the Best & Keep Clicking
When I was reading the review I was like …..then I told to myself that he himself doesn’t know anything in photography. But I have to accept the fact that the place, subject, scene and every thing was perfect except skills in me.

Now I think I could have done the job better if I would have followed the golden principles of art. Many people say photography is half science and half art I will it is a 2/3 is Science and 1/3 is ART because ART itself is half science. Why Please read this.. “Art is all around us, but many people do not understand what they see. The more that art can be broken down into simple language, the better everyone can understand what they see. The STUDY OF ART is often broken into four components: art criticism (analysis), aesthetics, art history, and art production. All four of these components must be studied together to fully appreciate and understand a work of art.” (Source: http://www.forartsake.net/understanding_art.htm) So If I have to click good photographs I have to understand the ART. Good Beginning for my blog.
