In India people are always fascinated withe the The Great Indian Himalayas from the ancient times...in modern day they are the playground of all adventure sports and adventure activities be it trekking, mountaineering, jeep safaris and many more. Its popularity is increasing day by day. When I first went to Rishikesh the adventure capital....famous for Rafting in Ganges high grade rapids in 2003 there were only few vendors who offered Rafting.Only Army used to do rafting in Rishikesh and now if you go every one provides the rafting services.
